ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - When three teenage burglars pried open the door of a northwest Albuquerque home they had no idea they would be met by a brave little girl, police said Wednesday.Yes! Something tells me that Alyssa's not going to have any problems with abusive boyfriends or being pressured into doing anything she doesn't want to as she gets older, either. While significantly outnumbered, she had the presence of mind to retrieve the rifle, make sure it was loaded, and find a defensible position - with a pink Crickett! That is just the most awesome part of the whole story (especially since: a) she didn't have to use it; and b) a single-shot bolt action .22LR is not my first choice of defensive arm - but in this case it totally worked!)Alyssa Gutierrez, 11, took matters into her own hands Tuesday when police said when Miguel Marquez, Eduardo Zubiate and Jesus Quintana broke into her home.
Gutierrez armed herself with a loaded rifle.
Now if someone could just work with Ms. Gutierrez to correct the Rule 2 violation in the linked video...
That is all.

Miguel Marquez, Eduardo Zubiate and Jesus Quintana ...
Now I wonder where THESE fine people are from hmmmmmm?
Just doing the jobs that Americans won't do.
Even more heartening is the attitude that the newscaster displays from the beginning.
Awesome story! And like The Packetman said, the newscaster's reaction was encouraging.
