Sixty nine years ago today, at 8:00 AM local time, the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese in a surprise attack destined to cripple the US Naval war effort. All 8 battleships of the Pacific fleet were destroyed; more than 350 aircraft were destroyed; and some 3,500 sailors and US personnel were killed or wounded. The attack dragged the United states into WWII with a terrible score to settle.
"A Day That Will Live In Infamy" indeed. Remember today.
That is all.

Thank you, each and every one of you, who fought to end the Axis and the tyrannical empires it attempted to build.
May the world never forget the living and dead who did so much for the entire world while asking nothing in return.
I really liked Tam's quick bit, too.
OTOH and being nitpicky all 8 BBs were not destroyed. Nevada got underway that day (only to be run aground on purpose) and quite a few of the others were later repaired and used to good effect during the war.
God Bless all who served and continue to serve.
