Gonna Need To Save My Pennies...

...because PISSED found me the perfect Zombie Apocalypse/TEOTWAWKI survival accessory:

Sale by Tender - HMS Invincible

(picture from link)

Oh, sure, it needs a little work - like a new motor and generators - but still. You're basically getting a floating city capable of transoceanic voyages - and you can land fighter jets on it. No word on whether it comes with any Harriers or not...

Oh, yeah, and I added it to my wishlist...

That is all.

Also park it in the North Sea for a bit and use that nifty prominence on the prow for a ski jump!

We can use this as the Mother Ship for our Pirate Hunting side business!

What would we call you?

Captain Jay?
Admiral Jay?
Would "Aye, aye, sir" suffice?

Of course if you docked this thing in your home state we'd probably be arrested because this ship has a high-capacity magazine.

You'd have to rename it first. Invincible was a stupid name for such a ridiculous looking ship.

Just need a Letter of Marque and Reprisal and you're good to go after Pirates. Too bad it's full of British Electronics....

Oh, and make sure you don't pull a Kerry and park it one state over to dodge your taxes.

I wonder if they still use Lucas wiring?

There should be a whole bunch of Harriers available soon.

I wonder what the pooled funds of all the gun bloggers out there would be, and if we could afford it.

You could permanently moor it in international waters and declare it your own sovereign country. :-)

+1 on Bluesun's suggestion. Put me down for $500 if you can organize it but I'll have to get to live aboard.

Can I sign on as one your pilots? When you pick up the necessary aircraft with which to hunt pirates/zombies of course.

Instruct your quartermaster to carry lots of this: http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm

I'm with Alan. "Liberty" sounds good. Of course, we'd need some 8"/55 mounts, and some CIWS for close-in work, but I think it's doable.

Sign me up-- every ship needs a good cook, right?
