New Article!

I review the many fine rimfire options available from Sig Sauer at Guns, Holsters, and Gear.

Okay, so I was drawing on a theme here - I kinda had Sig on the brain after touring the Sig Academy, and Sig Sauer has a focused enough rimfire line that detailing the various offerings isn't a booklet unto itself. They currently offer a rimfire rifle with several different configurations; a dedicated pistol; and three different conversion kits.

Go and take a read - they've got some good stuff!

That is all.

I have a conversion for my 229s and it is fine. The only complaints are that it does not fit the duty holster properly (ejection port - needed for one of the three retention points - is in a different place) and the magazines which are quite longer than the 229 centerfire will not fit in my 229-sized duty mag holders. Therefore I cannot properly practice every drill with my duty rig that I would like.

The conversion kit is a better tool than the Mosquito, being aluminum and not that cheesy alloy. With LE direct purchase it is over $100 less than retail - quite the bargain.

Maybe someday I'll get a 522 or a conversion for either my 226s or 220. That will take a while as we readjust finances from a very bad 2010; yet another plus to the less-expensive rimfire 'in the hand', though. For now count at least one big fan of the conversion kits. Solid deal on good equipment.
