Okay. Yesterday was the last day of February. Today is the first day of March. We're three weeks away from the start of spring, and nearly a month after Groundhog Day. This means it's time to make the yearly announcement, as folks still seem to be missing the memo:
It's time to stop turning on the Christmas lights, people!
That is all.

I live in KY, spent last weekend in a place in IN called 'Bacon Hollow'. Lets just say there is more than a splash of local color around here. Despite that I haven't seen Christmas decorations since January.
Another -1 for MA. You really should consider moving to a free state Jay.
My wires are under like 2 feet of frozen brick snow -- I'll get 'em taken down as soon as I can Jay :).
Those aren't Christmas lights, those are Easter lights!
Hey, my Christmas lights are still up - they're frozen to the porch and under two feet of snow in spots.
I don't turn 'em on now, though!
Yea, considering we've had 7 FREAKIN' FEET of snow since Christmas I'll cut people a little slack this year. If they're up, and ya can't get them down, might as well light 'em up, heh.
Ya know, in December I was a little sad I didn't get around to putting up the lights this year. In January I was quite happy I hadnt. :)
Jay,
I know a way for you to not ever have to be concerned w/ Christmas lights, trees, etc. Convert and become a member of my Tribe. I know a rabbi or two who would be happy to accomodate you.

Jay, if you turn those lights on they may melt their way free...
I'm with Dave H :)
Jay, you live near Gretchen Wilson or something? ("...and I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long..." - Redneck Woman)
And how unlikely is it that a phone guy gets the word verification "wedial"?
