Yes, It Is...
That right there is one of the rarest 1911s out there, a Singer .45 Caliber Automatic Pistol. Only 500 were ever made. This one was spotted at the James D. Julia Firearms Auction held recently in Fairfield, ME. According to Wally, the final price was over $40,000.
Yes, it's even more expensive than 70 year old whiskey...
That is all.

More pics, please!
Cool! Let's have a range report. How's the trigger? What sort of group will it do from the bench?
Singer 1911 > 70-y.o. whiskey. Why? You cannot reload 70-y.o. whiskey;)
That's purty.

holy damn.
ASM826, I did bid on it but didn't win. Not sure if the new owner would let run a few magazines through it :) It had a documented provenance back to the Army Air Corps in the 40s. Not a mint example of the gun by any means, but booooy oh boy did it have some perfect, honest, wear. It has been there and done that!

$40,000 guns.
$21,000 booze.
Damn, we gotta get cheaper hobbies. Like crack or redheads.
Am I missing something? Judging by the size of the fingers holding it, that looks awful small for a 1911.
Stretch, not sure redheads are cheaper ;)
Wally has giant hands.
GIANT hands, ladies...
Axe, I dated a lot of redheads. Married a blond. "A man has to know his limits."
On a combined fiscal, emotional and physical level redheads are THE most expensive thing out there.
