1. IZInterrogator on the GBC got a SWEET EBR:
Here's a late addition to the BAG Day guns, thanks to my dealer being closed Mondays and Tuesdays. A FN SCAR 17S in black.Jealousy. I haz it.
2. Stretch got a stunning example of the "finest battle implement ever devised":
Man, I have got to get me onna those...
3. phred in OK got a beauty of a boltie:
I've attached pics of what I am considering my BAG day purchase. I managed to grab an original bayonet and a repro sling to complete my Model of 1917 project. My FIL gifted me the rifle about a year ago. I had researched it for him, then slowly started dropping hints... Winchester manufacture, dated 11/1917.It's so beautiful, even though it was an existing work in progress I'll allow it.
When I received the rifle, the stock had been sporterized. She's now in a original wood and hardware. Here are some details to stoke your bayonet lust: 21 3/4" total length with a 17" blade.
Man, y'all got some gorgeous guns...
That is all.

Hope I'm not too late to the party, but here's mine.
Waitaminnit: You don't have a Garand?
Jay must HATE my new gun . . . pics sent and nuttin'. I'm so sad. Boo hoo.
:-)~
CM,
I don't *yet* have a Garand. One is on the list for acquisition soon...
Cher,
A thousand apologies! You did indeed send that pic in time to make today's list, but with the NRA convention and everything I didn't have time to get it from my phone and upload it.
Tell you what - your new gun will take solo center stage next Friday to make up for it...
Mea culpa!
Jay, I sent you an email with the photo shoot . . . enjoy.
:)
You need a Beretta-made Garand in 308 so I can live vicariously through you.
phred in OK: Reminder that the 1917 magazine can hold SIX rounds of G*d's Own Caliber (Old Testament). Since the base P-14 was designed for 5 rimmed .303 British the '17 can take 6 of the rimless .30-06.
With bayonet attached you've over 5 feet of walnut and steel to make your "get off my lawn" point.
WV= "turabl" The M1917 makes a turabl mess of the bad guy.
