Tonight marks the start of the annual Cub Scout campout, our yearly foray into the great outdoors at our local Scout campground. We're staying tonight, all day tomorrow, and leaving Sunday morning (although there's talk of thunderstorms, in which case in the interest of safety we'll break camp early).
Gonna be incommunicado for the rest of the weekend, and the next time you hear from me, I'll be in DC...
That is all.

Godspeed!!
I got hit by a hurricane, while tent camping, on Assategue Island, a dune away from the beach. Thunderstorms while camping are good for you. Build character. Put hair on your chest, and all that.
Good luck! Hopefully the weather holds out and you stay fairly dry.
Have fun, and call when you get down here...
It's not a real scout campout unless there is some drama involved (storms, fire, critters). That's what makes it an adventure. Happy Trails!

Yeah, and then make it stand on end just before a lighting strike. (grin)
Considering these are Cubs going on the campout, I think living to camp another day rather than face the fury of Mother Nature is a good idea.
Enjoy :)
Hope you have as much fun on your cub scout camp as we did on ours.
@Dave H: We only lost 2 or 3 of them, it was sort of like culling the herd. You never saw Scouts put up tents so fast, though, we could see the storm coming up the coast, lightning and all.
But, yeah..always better for a nice sunny trip than a wet rainy one!
