Last night, after hearing what must have been the 20th train go by, Mrs. G. turns to me and deadpans,
"How often do the trains go by?"Naturally, not wanting to miss a beat, I replied with the standard:
"So often you won't even notice"...It's not that bad, but we did get a chuckle out of it...
That is all.

Mrs. G called to get the hotel reservation, right? You're not on the hook for this, are you?
If the weather sucks and you need a closeby indoory kinda place that reminds you of Mass... Savage Mill was a textile factory that is now an antique mall.
The kids might not like that.
And it's 'ladies night' at the palace hotel ballroom...
FYI, Jay, in case you aren't pissed off enough already: a girl just got raped in an airport, reportedly with workers walking by and not caring.

Sorry, meant to point out that airports, like high schools, are "absolutely safe" gun free zones.
Enjoy... :-) I grew up listening to trains every night!
I grew up across the street from the railroad tracks. Trains still don't wake me up . . .
When you made the post about looking for a hotel room, didn't I crack a joke about trains, quoting the lines from "My Cousin Vinny?"
That's a lot of entertainment. For five dollars.
Trains? Meh. Try living in the dorm on an Air Force base, where they do engine-runs on aircraft all time of day and night, 100 yds away.
Enjoy DC, you've got some excellent weather!
