From the originator:
Sequence of shots of increasing power to show the effects of different weapons. Originally filmed for a medical conference on the treatment of casualties in a 'Major Incident' situation.Very interesting to watch. You can see the progression as the bullets get larger and faster - the .308 starts to bow out the back of the barrel; the .338 really creates a dynamic exit; and, as expected, the .50 BMG blows it apart. Is gun. Is not safe.
The barrels had 60 litres of water. Polyprop material. Total weight about 65kg.
And I especially like the bit at the end about cover vs. concealment vis a vis the car door...
That is all.
UPDATE: My blogson reminds me that I am a week too late. Sorry MSJ!!!

And yet the media insists on calling AKs and ARs "high powered".
The .50, now THAT is high powered!
Outstanding!
Thanks for finding this.
I remember an LAPD deputy chief of police calling an FN FiveSeven "an assault pistol used to kill big game".

"'You use it on large lions, tigers and bears,' said LAPD Deputy Chief Michel Moore..."
Oh my!
That is a cool vid... That's why I posted it a week ago
(Sulking.)
I'll be contacting these guys and asking for permission to use that video in my Wound Ballistics lecture forthwith.
Thanks, Jay!
LOL- it's the whole 'cover' versus 'concealment' argument put to rest rather convincingly! :-)
Ok, now I HAVE to get a .50 upper for my AR.
Good thing I like Romain noodles.
