Okay, I didn't want y'all to be disappointed, so here's a two-fer on the DGC.

First off, chiefjaybob sends in a sad story out of IL:

Suspect in slayings of couple had 'episodes of rage'

Doran W. Bloom, 27, entered the house of John and Audrey Feldkamp in the 7500 block of Somerset Drive around 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to authorities.

Their son, Scott Feldkamp, 54, saw Bloom attacking his 84-year-old father in the entryway of the house, Nygren said. At first, the son thought Bloom was punching his father, but as he approached, he saw that his father was being stabbed, Nygren said.

This poor guy. He comes in, sees his dad getting attacked, gets stabbed, then runs upstairs, where he finds his mother also stabbed. At least he grabbed a gun and took care of the goblin first, but damn, that's gotta mess with his head. Obviously it sounds like the dude had a few screws loose and all, but there are no winners in this story, only one survivor.

Woman shoots, kills suspect in sexual assault in Denton County

PONDER — Authorities were investigating the death of a suspect in a sexual assault case Wednesday who was apparently shot by the victim.

Denton County dispatchers got a call from a 29-year-old woman about 10 a.m. who said she shot a man who sexually assaulted her after she arrived at her parents' residence in the 1500 block of Seaborn Road, said Tom Reedy, sheriff's department spokesman.

Details are fuzzy - she claims he told her to take the gun and kill him with it or he'd kill her. Scant reporting, but for now, unless something comes out to the contrary, I'll allow it. Scratch one perp.
