My review of the Ruger LC9 is up - at The Firearms Blog!
The powers-that-be have decided to make some changes in where certain articles are posted, and my review of the Ruger LC9 was put up over at The Firearms Blog (note to self: Add to blogroll). My initial impression of the LC9 is favorable; if not for the light strikes on the RWS ammunition I'd say quite favorable. I'm also a bit curious if my impatience got the better of me - rather than take the gun down and clean it before shooting, I brought it right to the range (hey, I'm not used to new guns!). In any case, it's cleaned and properly oiled now, so another range trip will be in order to test it again.
I'd like to carry it a bit and shoot it quite a bit more (only 70 rounds so far, certainly not enough to make a final decision) and post back with an update.
That is all.

Hopefully the shoot it quite a bit more to prove reliability comes before carrying it a bit.
Oh, you can count on that. I'm going to run some more of the RWS ammo through it, and try to find some additional bullet weights to try as well (like the subsonic 147 grain bullets mentioned by Rivrdog at SayUncle's).
It won't make the carry rotation unless and until I'm convinced the light strikes were a "breaking in" issue...
I'm very much of the opinion of, "If it don't work out of the box, it don't work."
I'm a bigger fan of n=1 is statistically meaningless...
Heck, it could have been a bad box of ammo (control: bring the Sig P226!).
Point is taken though - there's a reason "you never get a second chance to make a first impression"...
I can tell you that all Ruger firearms made in Prescott AZ are proberly cleaned and lubed before being shipped. Can't speak to CT.
How you planning on carrying it?
Read the review Weerd! I have both a pocket holster and an IWB holster... :)
I'll read it when I get home. Work blocks that site from my office computer.
