Alleged home invasion suspect shot dead in Belmont
According to several reports, attributed to Belmont Police Chief Charlie Franklin, a resident of the home fatally shot one of two men who broke into the house, a residential duplex. When police officers arrived, they found one man dead of a shotgun wound, lying in the front yard. No names have been released.
WBTV says it was told by a police source that the man who fired the shotgun and the man who was killed each dated the same woman, and that the incident might have resulted from a love triangle.
Now, as is usual with DGC reports, the actual information is pretty scant. It's hard to tell who - in the "love triangle" - is in the wrong; however, when you grab one of your buddies and break into someone's home, you forfeit all higher ground even if you're the one being wronged in the triangle. I'd like to think that the dude who got himself shot was a jealous ex-boyfriend, maybe even someone who thought of women as his "property" and was going to teach the new guy a lesson.
In any case, once you kick in that front door, there's a big ol' target on your chest no matter how right you think you are.
Dead Goblin Count: 182
That is all.
