Not Exactly...

Via The Gormogons, here's an interesting op-ed about Biden's terminology vis a vis the Tea Party:

Biden’s ‘terrorist’ gaffe

On Monday, Politico reported that Joe Biden had made a deeply unfortunate comment. In response to the remarks of Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Penn.) about the Tea Party and fiscal conservatives that “We have negotiated with terrorists,” Biden reportedly agreed that “They have acted like terrorists.”

See, the problem I have is with the word "gaffe". Dan Quayle insisting that potato has an "e" at the end was a gaffe. George H.W. Bush throwing up on the Japanese Prime Minister was a gaffe. Biden absolutely intended to call Tea Party members "terrorists" with all the connotations of the word. That's not a gaffe.

And this isn't a new thing, not by any stretch. Bill Clinton blamed the OK City bombing on right wing talk radio some fifteen years ago. The left has been equating "those with whom I disagree with politically" with "those whose actions by their very nature are horrific and inexcusable" for quite some time now - Biden's hardly the first to make the parallel between a political opponent and those who would murder women and children to make a political point.

Then again, we'd expect no less for ol' Plugs, would we?

That is all.

“But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -– at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do -– it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we're talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.”

Howz that workin' out for you Mr. Biden?

I want to comment. I really do. Its just that I try not to work blue... on the other hand, for some of us at least, we now have several different agencies/entities of the government that consider us traitors and terrorists for a collection of different perfectly suitable beliefs... I'm up to at least 3, myself, probably more... when do we get to start excommunicating each other, a la 1534. Who volunteers to be Henry VIII and who to be Clement VII?

Just think, he's one bullet or plane crash away from becoming President.

I'm pretty sure I'd equate a whole lot of what I see going on in Washington now as terrorism.

Just like when they were trying to pass TARP, terrorize us into accepting they had no other choice. I don't give into terrorism, you're all out by my vote! Now if I can only find someone worth voting for.

It's not a gaffe, it is what he actually BELIEVES!!!

OldNFO, exactly. It's a Kinsley Gaffe -- a politician accidentally says what he or she really believes.

Larry Correia has a meditation/rant about Biden, the poster boy for hoof-in-mouth-disease.

And I love the word verification today: "monister" as in the far left/progressives think normal, rational Americans are monisters.
