NO MUMBLES NO!

Bandit has the latest gem from Hizzoner:

Menino blames rap melee on burb thugs

Mayor Thomas M. Menino is blaming widespread brawling and wilding at a free city-sponsored weekend rap concert on hordes of “kids from suburbia” who unexpectedly came out en masse to party with Pittsburgh hip-hop phenom Mac Miller.

“Most of them . . . were kids from suburbia,” Menino told the Herald of the estimated 40,000 who packed City Hall Plaza for Saturday’s free rap show. “The crowd, after the concert broke up, got very unruly as they went to the different transit stations in the neighborhood. It was a crowd that moved in surges.”

Right. It was those darn kids from Marblehead and Swampscott that caused the melee! I mean, it's not like violent crime isn't out of control in places like Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, or Roxbury, right Mumbles? Is this guy really this stupid, or does he expect that the media will just carry water for him? Given that the story doesn't even vaguely begin to question Mumbles' brazenly dumbass assertion, I can only conclude the later.

Look. I'm a dad from the burbs, and I can spot your problem a mile (35, actually) away:

Police said there were no arrests or injuries reported but the mayor said the videos are being reviewed.

Actually, what Mumbles said was "Acorn lebel fluh", but I digress...

Let's get this straight. You have underage drinking, robberies, fights, assaults, and other incidents of violent crime, and not a single person was arrested? Does it really matter where the come from, then, if they won't face any sort of punishment? If the violence really was caused by uppity kids from the 'burbs, a night in the Charles Street jail would definitely put them back on the straight and narrow, no?

Of course, given Mumbles' propensity for blaming modes of transportation for violence in Boston, he'll probably ban the subway...

That is all.

Maybe the bused in punks from 'hoods like Southborough, Hopkington, and Consord. Mumbles knows that's where the real pipe-hittin trouble makers come from.

FYI, the Charles Street Jail has been closed for quite a few years now and was refurbished and opened as a pretty trendy hotel several years ago. Suffolk County now uses the Nashua Street Jail and the South Bay House of Correction.

Agreed, Mumbles is a dope.
