You Can't Make This S**t Up...

Seen last night in Gunblogger Conspiracy chat was this story:

Obama sticker led cops to shooting suspect
A paroled killer’s “Obama” bumper sticker was the break that helped cops nab the man accused of the cold-blooded murder of a Tedeschi’s convenience store clerk, jurors in Edward Corliss’ murder trial learned yesterday.

“It struck me as odd,” state parole officer Kevin Devlin testified yesterday in Suffolk Superior Court about the campaign sticker plastered on the back of parolee Corliss’ white Plymouth Acclaim.

First off, an Øbama sticker *anywhere* in MA would not be "odd". I wonder if this was a larger-than-average sticker or something of that nature that made it stand out in the officer's mind? Secondly, here we have yet another instance where the MA justice system allows a killer out into the general public only to have him kill again. At least this time he served some time, still being on parole after thirty something years.

Notice, too, that even in Massachusetts, home of some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, a convicted violent felon has no trouble getting his hands on a firearm. Needing a permit simply to own didn't stop Corliss; it being a felony for a felon to even touch a firearm didn't stop him; hell, the laws against robbery and freakin' murder didn't stop him. But throw one more gun law on the pile and all gun violence will cease! That's the disconnect the anti-freedom forces would have you swallow.

Because, you know, gun control means that a clerk bleeding out for $700 in cash is preferable to a crook with 6 .357" holes in him...

That is all.
