Now, I don't know how much of the above is true. A good number of these are familiar; some are not; some of the claims are stretches while others are far too close to the mark for comfort.
What really jumps out, though, is the sheer number - 31 "czars" on that list. One wonders what the average salary of a "czar" might be? It's certainly well into six figures; they're most likely government employees who will draw a pension at that high salary on the backs of taxpayers for the rest of their lives. Many of them have no experience in their chosen czardom - one wonders why they were chosen for their post...
Yet it's Wall Street that's the problem according to the OccupySomething brainchildren...

Yes, its a wiki entry so it has to be taken with a grain of salt until verified, but it looks like Bush wasn't too far behind in total numbers during his terms. Of course, Obama takes a bad idea and ramps it up even further - which is no surprise.
The "czar" thing is, and always has been, troubling to me on many different levels. Both parties have abused it.
One addition near and dear to my heart is the Oceans Czar, Jane Lubchenko, radical environmentalist and former head of the ultra left-wing Environmental Defense Fund, and now head of NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association who currently is pulling scientific research dollars and putting them into eliminating commercial fishing in New England.
I'm not an analyst anymore, but I'm seeing a pattern here.
Got an agenda that will never get through the cabinet secretary confirmation process? No problem. Just appoint a 'czar' and go nuts.
I'm really starting to question my belief in our ability to vote our way out of this mess.
Given this administration I'm waiting for reports that the Domestic Violence Czar beats his wife.
I vote that we shift Paul Krugman over to Czar of Silly Walks. His teeny tiny little legs give him an advantage there.

John Holdren is one piece of work - the hysterical anti-war leftist terrified of a future war over food - published a brilliant solution of forced sterilization / eugenics to avoid the POTENTIAL catastrophe loss of life IF IF IF there were ever another war over food...
To me, CZAR is just a made up title. A politician's title, so that the professional cronies like them can wear fancy clothes, eat in expensive restaurants and hope above all else their miserable, worthless and pathetic life somehow makes sense and to have a job. So really; who is the jobs bill for again? Oh yes, I see the CZAR's office staff.
Some of those highlighted items leave me asking "And this is bad WHY?"
I want the whole damn package of rights, not just for me, but for everyone - and that means equality before the law, too.
Not the smug "well, you can always marry someone of the opposite sex, silly LGBT person", but honest equality where aside from supporting full epidemiological disclosure between partners and discouraging incest, marriage is none of the states damned business.
And somehow, I rarely see being an advocate for civil rights as being a real down-check.
That said, the whole concept of czars is obscene at the base.
