As hinted yesterday, I have another T&E gun in the queue. Robb's not the only one who gets to play with the cool toys, as the innovative minds over at KRISS-USA saw fit to send me a Super V Vector carbine:
Definitely not kross
The KRISS uses a proprietary recoil management system that directs the recoil downward rather than straight back, reducing felt recoil and (in the full-auto variant) dramatically reducing muzzle climb. The carbine has a 16.25" barrel, weighs 5.8 pounds, and has an overall length of 34.8”. It is chambered in G-d's Own Pistol caliber, takes Glock 21 magazines, and a .40 S&W version is in the works which will take Glock 22 magazines.
It's futuristic as heck - the KRISS really is unlike any longarm I've ever held. I've handled a few semi-automatic Thompson repros (the KRISS weighs about a tenth what the Thompson does, although that's not necessarily a comment on the svelteness of the KRISS...), and the odd .45 ACP AR-15 variant, and the KRISS is light years different.
The proof, as they say, is in the shooting. A quick initial trip to the range (literally two magazines hastily shot through the KRISS after picking it up) was inconclusive, with teething issues that should smooth out (I need to experiment with better ammo). It is quite accurate at 50 - 75 feet with 230 grain FMJ ammo, and the addition of a dialed-in red dot sight (see why I had the bleg earlier this week???) will only improve on this.
I picked one heck of an interesting rifle for my first longarm T&E...
That is all.

And it's MA-compliant? But it LOOKS SCAwY!!!! OMGe11eventy!!!
maybe we can arrange a play-date?
Jay, you mentioned in the "what is it" post that it needs some mods to MA legal. Mind expanding on that?
Weerd,
I am nearly certain we can arrange a playdate...
ZerCool,
The stock needed to be pinned and the 13-round magazine needed to be exchanged for a 10-round magazine.
You know, because those extra three rounds are just that much more dangerous...
Hey Jay, how about this for next Friday's entry:
