MArooned Product Review: Ameriglo Classic Night Sights

After talking with the good folks at Ameriglo at SHOT Show in January, they were kind enough to send a sample of their Classic Night Sights to test out:

Ameriglo GL-119

These are their standard Classic night sights with white outline. There's a tritium insert set into a standard white dot both front and rear. Friend, purveyor of fine gun pr0n, and gunsmith extraordinaire Wally was kind enough to take a few moments and install them for me:

Here's a close-up of the front sight:

And the rear:

But here's the best shot of all:

Night view

That's a quick snapshot of the sights taken in a pitch-black room. The sights are very bright, simple to acquire target even in near-darkness, and are sharp and crisp even in the dark. When lighting is ample, the white outlines work great - quick target acquisition and sharp focus. I put a few magazines through the G30 after Wally installed the sight to confirm that they were aligned properly (they were; Wally really knows his stuff!) and will test at length as time allows.

I'd say that the Ameriglo Classic night sights make an excellent addition to any fighting handgun.

That is all.
