(CBS News) Senator Chuck Shumer is calling on the Justice Department to expand its probe of the Trayvon Martin shooting to include an examination of controversial Stand Your Ground laws associated with the case, he told CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.You opportunistic, blood-dancing, nanny-state bastard. I'd ask if there were no depths to which you could not sink, but I already know there are not. You're all too happy to jump on this case with both jackboots to try to roll back the advances in personal liberty - no better than the opportunistic race pimps secretly pleased because they finally, once again, have a rallying point around which to again seem relevant.
Schumer, in interview with CBS News' Norah O'Donnell, said he is sending a letter to the Justice Department "to ask them to expand their investigation into the general implication of these Stand Your Ground laws."
It's hard to tell which is worse, really - Schumer dipping his hands in Martin's blood in an attempt to repeal a law he disagrees with or Øbama's shameful display of "my son would look like Martin". Schumer's throwing around words like "vigilante" - even though Zimmerman has not even been charged with any crime yet, let alone convicted.
Apparently along with the Second Amendment, Chuck the Schmuck would like to see the Fifth Amendment repealed as well...

There's a certain school of Political Thought that says for the sake of the RKBA, Harry Reid needs to be kept as the Dems Senate Leader, or else it will go to Chuckie. There may be some validity to that line of thought, distasteful as it may seem.
But I wouldn't worry too much. Holder will get on the "Stand Your Ground" Laws right after he arrests all those BATFE "Fast and Furious" people for breaking Federal Gun Laws and.....uh. well, maybe we do have to worry!

UpChuck Shumer is just trying to use the controversy for his own ends. "Stand your ground" laws are a matter for the states, not the federal government to decide.
With UpChuck, every word, every act, is calculated to pursue his political goals.
He's likely to be very unhappy after the November elections because a R take over of the Senate means he'll lose his cushy leadership position.
