How Many Millions Was Hillary!'s Book Advance?

Local papers are all up in arms over Scott Brown releasing his taxes.

Brown’s income skyrocketed after Senate election
The family income for U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has skyrocketed in the two years since he took office, rising from roughly $300,000 to $839,000 in 2010 and $510,000 this year, according to six years of federal and state income tax returns released by his campaign.
Meanwhile, the income for his Democratic rival, Elizabeth Warren, and her husband fell sharply in 2011, with $616,000 in total income as opposed to 2010, where they reported $954,721. Warren reported $981,000 in 2009 and $831,000 in 2008.
Got that? He wrote a book, which increased his income, and that's bad. Elizabeth Warren, who has never worked a real job in her life, still made well over a half-million dollars. They're commenting on his "$675 barn jacket" and the fact that he included grooming costs for TV spots on his tax return. They're hinting strongly that he's some sort of Beltway millionaire, as though this is anything new or uncommon to folks in DC.

This is the same media, mind you, who didn't bat at eye at Michelle Obama's $800 sneakers, or the fact that the Clintons left DC in 2000 to a multi-million dollar home in NY that their Democratic donors arranged for them. Scott Brown dared to make money as a US Senator. You know, just like every single other US Senator. Yes, he made more money as a US Senator than as a State Rep. Yes, he wrote a book. Yes, his combined salary of ~ $400K a year is more than the average person.

They're going to have a mighty hard time making Elizabeth Warren out as a woman of the people. She has never held a private sector job in her life, teaching at colleges and universities as well as being appointed to panels and committees by politicians - and this is worth $600K a year? To the guy making $50K a year fitting pipes, someone making well over ten times that for being on the Congressional Oversight Panel isn't going to resonate.

Look, I'm no fan of Scott Brown. He totally threw us under the bus with his puzzling opposition to the universal concealed carry bill; he's been a typical squishy Northeast RINO for just about everything that's come down the pike; he's hardly a conservative by any stretch. But trying to paint him as out of touch with the common man while ignoring his opponent's lifetime of political hackery? Seriously? Folks voted against Shannon O'Brien for governor when the fourth generation political hack she was tried to paint herself as a political outsider...

But really, guys, this is the best you've got???

That is all.

There's one more aspect of this you're missing.

Elizabeth Warren's income fell by $340,000 from 2010 to 2011.

Scott Brown's income fell by $328,000 from 2010 to 2011.

In other words, both incomes decreased by roughly the same amount over the same period of time.

Sigh...this kind of goes along with John Lovit's rant from last week. His point was America is all about 'making it'...then if you do 'make it' it's like 'Screw you for making it,you greedy bastard!'
