Yeah, I know. Stop laughing already...
So why, praytell, does something like this happen?
Dad beaten over parking space: ‘It’s not worth it’
A Brockton man brutally beaten over a parking space recalled the harrowing attack yesterday from his Hub hospital bed, telling the Herald he’s lucky to be alive and the argument wasn’t worth it.The anti-freedom brigade likes to trot out the "people will be shot over parking spaces" trope whenever concealed carry is mentioned. They use statements like "Wild West" (conveniently ignoring that places like DC, Chicago, Boston, etc. are FAR more violent than any of the towns of the Old West), blood in the streets, etc. without a trace of irony - as the cities in states that have the draconian gun control laws they gleefully support actually do see daily and recurring violence.
“They kicked me. They hit me with a stick when I was on the ground,” recalled Felipe Sosa, who said he begged his attackers to stop. “They never stopped.”
They had a metal pipe and a piece of metal shelving; common items found in the vast majority of homes and 100% of all home improvement stores. Neither item requires any kind of permit to own nor carry. And yet these three men were able to beat someone very nearly to death over a parking space with these common items. The man beaten grabbed a baseball bat - again, available at any sporting goods store or big box store - but was unable to defend himself against a comparably armed group of men.
But *we* are the paranoid ones that cling to our guns, right?
That is all.

Just out of curiousity, do you have a CCW?
Thank God it wasn't a gun!
At least they didn't knife the Guy with a (Shudder!) Double-Edged Blade!
But one can still buy a Hatchet up there, right?
When sticks are outlawed, only criminals will have sticks.
Re Jim Cooper: Any longtime reader of Jay will know that yes, yes he does.
Actually, it may surprise you to learn that I do not, in fact, have a CCW.
(in MA it's called an LTC: License To Carry)...
I have had a Class A LTC for 18 years. I had an FID before that starting at age 15.
Semantics Jay, semantics. ;)
Sigh... It just continues... If he'd shot one to defend himself, I'm betting he'd be in jail right now.
It wasn't a semi-automatic assualt steel pipe, nor metal shelving with a bayonet lug.
See, the law works.
