You know, with all the ordering I do from Amazon, I really should oughta have one of those buttons here on MArooned so I can get a cut of my own sales... I know Unc's got one, but he's not on Blogger - anyone on Blogger have the Amazon widget thing? If so, how hard is it to set up - I drop a reasonable chunk through Amazon in a given month/year, and figure that most folks probably do as well.
Let me figure this out and get the widget straightened out, and we'll go from there...
That is all.

1)Sign up as an affiliate
2)Get links
3)Post them in your sidebar like you do anything else.
Do note, however, that you can't buy stuff for yourself using an affiliate link. It's also against the TOS for anyone you know to buy something via your aff link.
I don't know if wizardpc's process is the same one Tam used, but she's got the Amazon widget and it appears to get regular use...
I put Tam's link into my browser bar. Everything I order through Amazon now goes through that link.
Once you get an Amazon Associates account you have several options for making a buck. One that works nicely for reviews is a link to the reviewed product at Amazon's site. The link encodes the fact that you're the one who published it, so you get a cut if anyone follows the link and buys the product. (You also get a cut if they follow other links from that page and buy other stuff.)
Just last week I got an Amazon gift card for people buying from links I made on Geekdad four years ago, so they keep on paying for a long time.
Sign up for the Amazon associates account. Then select the search widget you want, cut & past the HTML code they give you into a Blogger HTML/Javascript widget.
But keep in mind, the moment you start trying to make money with your blog your defense against copyright infringement weakens as the argument can be made that any material not yours but on your website you are using to make money.

Jay has sponsors now, so that situation already exists. But he uses a light hand when he quotes news articles and other bloggers, so I doubt he's in any additional danger.
Meh. I live in NC and due to our tax laws I can't be a Amazon associate so I no longer buy from them.
