Burglar shot while fleeing from home in stolen vehicle
INDEPENDENCE, Ore. (KOIN) -- Polk County Sheriff's Deputies found a man dead Sunday morning on Halls Ferry Road outside of independence, Oregon after they say he burglarized at least two homes Saturday evening.
In a press release sent to KOIN 6 News, detectives say that 19 year-old Genaro Hernandez Mendoza of West Salem was going to visit family who lived on the farm when he entered and burglarized a home on Independence Highway.Okay, now, I know what you're thinking here. "Why isn't this a DGC, Jay? Was the shooter in Law Enforcement? A prohibited person? Why doesn't this make the cut?" Well, in order for a shooting to add to the Dead Goblin Count, there has to actually *be* a shooter...
Det. Williams with the Polk County Sheriff's Department tells KOIN 6 News that they believe a piece of the shotgun was caught in the trigger area of the AR-15. While crossing the field the truck hit a bump causing the weapon to fire once striking and killing Mendoza.
They found the deceased goblin in the truck with the transmission in gear and the engine still running. Let's assume for the sake of argument that the forensic evidence supports the idea that this was a (somewhat) self-inflicted wound (i.e. no .223" holes through the door skin of the truck or anything). Now, I have a shotgun and an AR-15, and I'll be damned if I could figure out how on earth this could happen. The only thing I can come up with is that maybe the AR has an extended trigger guard and a light trigger.
Sometimes, stupid kills; sometimes it even kills someone who deserves it.
That is all.

The Shotgun MIGHT have had an External Hammer like an H+R or a Coach Gun, and he just threw the two weapons into the Cab, where it caught the AR Trigger. But that also supposes that the AR was in Condition One and the Safety was off.
But if the Shotgun was a Mossie or a Remington or something like that, then I think this guy was playing with the AR.
But it really sounds like this guy was about to go on a Shooting Spree after Murdering his Family, and he needed to get some Guns. So he knew through some sort of Acquaintance or Friend that the Guns he stole were available.
But either way, he won't be contaminating the Gene Pool. Too Bad the Antis will classify this as a "Child Killed by an EVIL ASSAULT WEAPON OF WAR!"
If it was a semiauto shottie the bolt handle on the side could have got inside the trigger guard and moved the trigger.
If the AR was loaded, a serious enough bump could cause it to fire.
Those things don't have a hammer block, ya know.
This reminds me of my favorite headline.
