Thank You...

Today is Veteran's Day. Thank you, the American servicemen and women who are on the pointy end of the spear.

Thank you, to all and sundry who read and comment on MArooned who have served or are currently serving.
"For those who have fought for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know."

Thank you for doing the job I wasn't strong enough to do; a fact that shames me to this day.

That is all.

You're welcome.

Back in my day, however, it really wasn't much of a choice.

Sort of like "voluntary community service" of the new administration...

Jay,
I chose to show my thanks today by driving my army 5 ton truck (think deuce and a half on lots of steroids). Slow and loud. It only turned a few heads, but I'm pretty sure that a few folks had served as they paid particular attention.

Thanks Jay- Wish we had been supported that well in the 70's.

anon,

Thanks. I'll keep writing until the Obama Administration decides the First Amendment is as inconvenient as the Second...

doubletrouble,

Still. You didn't run to Canada. You didn't burn your draft card. You served.

Thank you for that.

wally,

That must have gotten some attention! I took the kids to the local Veteran's Day ceremony at the town hall. My son was the only Cub Scout in attendance. I will be bringing this up at the next meeting...

old nfo,

Thank you, sir. I can't undo the mistakes of the past, but I will do my level best to insure that it doesn't happen from any of my charges going forward.

And heaven help the person who insults, assaults, or otherwise bothers a serviceman or woman in my presence...

Thank You-

In 18 years with the Guard, I've know a number of VN vets, and I'm well aware of what the public's support could be...

One of the great benefits of the internet is finding people who give damn; and getting to look at their guns while I'm away from mine.

Jay,
Thank you for remembering and supporting vets.

I'll argue the strong enough part of your post anytime. Different times, different personalities produce different choices; not stronger choices, just different.

Consider your blog, introducing new shooters to the support as your service and you do a heck of job at those.

Always enjoy your writing, thanks again.
