The progenitor (CZ's "tactical attachment device") at least had other uses... you could push a button and remove the blade, leaving you with an extremely beefy muzzle block and guard.
I got one for my kid the cop. He pulls it out of his gear bag and snaps it on when he wants to mock someone who has shown up with an AR-15 that's been made into an over equipped rail farm.
It needs a rail so you can put a light on it. Or better yet, someone should make one with a light built in.

I really want an M&P 9 but what's the point with no way to get NORMAL capacity magazines for it?
Maybe I need to bite the bullet and get the M&P45.

We used to cal the M16 bayonets "marksmanship aids" in the service. Insert into target, pull trigger to remove. :)
Waste of money.
