Didn't post it but every year Mom and I walk into Portland and have breakfast at Becky's Dinerhttp://www.beckysdiner.com/
Usally walk along the waterfront for a little bit, I tell her sea stories (fun ones, not scary ones) and we walk back home.
The Food is greasy diner food, but given that she lives in South Portland it's about an 8 mile walk round-trip, we don't feel so guilty.
Thanks, it was a day on the road, but still a good day.
