NO [BLEEPING] WAY

Republican Christie captures NJ governor's seat

TRENTON, N.J. — Chris Christie, an aggressive former prosecutor who racked up a perfect conviction rate in public corruption cases and became the darling of New Jersey's Republican Party establishment, has unseated the deep-pocketed but unpopular Gov. Jon Corzine.

...

With 75 percent of precincts reporting, Christie had 50 percent of the vote compared to 44 percent for Corzine. Independent candidate Chris Daggett, who at one point had been feared as a potential spoiler, had about 5 percent.

Holy crap. I wouldn't have bet on Christie for 100:1 odds. This is a most interesting turn of events, especially with VA already being called for McConnell.

Oh, and a note to the GOP:

Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina, who was sharply criticized when he yelled, "You lie," during Obama's health care speech to a joint session of Congress, stumped for Christie in the campaign's final weekend.

Take heed. Ignore the Tea Party attendees at your own peril.

That is all.

As a born and bred Joisey boy myself, I am truly shocked (not Bruce shocked). Almost as shocking is the fact that many of the local elections here in true blue CT went red. The local liberal blogs are already beside themselves. Add the clean sweep in VA and all I have to say is "Barry O: can you hear us NOW?".
Even if Hoffman loses, it's looking like a close fight in what should have been a slamdunk win for the dems (when you just had one dem running against another dem, how could you lose?). DNC and GOP alike: watch out, we don't JUST wave Gadsden flags on corners and attend town hall meetings. We also VOTE!

I'd say that the GOP leadership is safe from the Zombiepocalypse. Not a brain cell between 'em.

Leave Trenton, Newark and the shitty parts of NJ that border on NY, and you have a very red state. Usually the city liberals outvote us suburb / rural conservative types (just like most MA elections) not this time.

Out were I live, we have lots of vets, hunters, and long waiting list for the gun club.

Check out this map. I live in Warren County - where Christie got more than twice the votes of Corzine (the % is way wrong).
