Suggested Ad for Brown...

Since Martha Coakley and the rest of the Democratic dunces insist on running ads showing specious "guilt by association" betwixt Brown and Bush/Cheney, we here at MArooned would like to shop around an idea for a rebuttal ad for the Brown committee to produce. I'd say "other Republican interests", except that they've been staying as far away from this race as possible.

I figured two could play at that game, so I've taken the liberty of sketching out a possible ad for Brown to use to counter these allegations...

[cut to: Scott Brown, standing in front of a Boston landmark]

"I'm Scott Brown, and I'm running to represent Massachusetts in the US Senate. My opponent, and those that support her, have been running attack ads that make vague reference to others in the Republican party without showing direct ties between myself and those people. That's called guilt by association, and it has no place in political campaigns.

[cut to: picture]

A Democrat

This Democrat spent his time appeasing foreign leaders who bore the US ill-will.

[cut to: picture]

Another Democrat

This Democrat involved the US in a terrible, costly war; okayed the development of nuclear weapons to later be used on a sovereign nation, and signed legislation that condemned Americans of certain descent to internment camps.

[cut to: picture]

Still Another Democrat

This Democrat lied about events in the Vietnam War to escalate American involvement. As opposed to the allegations on the left about the previous occupant of the White House with whom I've been associated, this Democrat really did lie, and American soldiers really did die because of it.

[cut to: picture]

One Last Democrat

This Democrat presided over runaway inflation, allowed foreign terrorists to hold Americans hostage with no repercussions, and gave away the Panama Canal.

[cut back to Brown; voiceover]

"Vote for Scott Brown. Because America doesn't need another kaiser-coddling, Japanese-American-interning, lying war-mongering, Panama Canal-giving-away Democrat in power."

I think we might have a winner here...

That is all.

UPDATE: Lissa notices the same trend, and gives further illustration of this idiotic tactic (that will, sadly, work in MA...)

If that is a picture of FDR, then you have an error. Harry Truman dropped the bombs on Japan. Of course, he was a Democrat too...

Ooh, good catch. Thanks!

I'd be kinda curious how well an Obama appearance would play, given that that bloom has fallen off and rotted a good while ago except for the most numb.

Uh, weerd?

This is Massachusetts. When it comes to Donk politics and politicians, we wrote the book on numb...

And Truman set up up to get the Korean War, and then stall it out, soaking Korean hills with American blood in a bitter stalemate that was only intended make minor negotiation points -- and the troops knew it.

The only reason FDR didn't order the use of the bomb was that he went to answer to his maker before he could.

kahr40. Agreed. And I will stand by FDR or Truman's use of the bomb on Japan as the right choice.

But it is fun to poke at liberal shibboleths with their own icons!

Oh, and it looks like Brown has raised a million dollars every day this week.

You know what I keep wondering? Where are the Ameraults ? I know the mother is dead, but aren't the daughter and Tookie still alive?

Martha, Luther, the investigator of acorn, Harshbarger, and Tom Unfortunately Reilly all played a part in railroading and destroying that family.

I know the story has more twists and turns than a Hindu Kush mountain pass, but for crissakes, the woman helped cover up what was possibly felony behaviour by her predecessors.

Don't sell it short: when it comes to Wilson, educate the voters on his White House showing of 'Birth of a Nation' and his segregation of the US civil services in 1913.

As for Carter, I'd just put up his picture... and then scream. There are enough MA residents who voted here in 1984... for Ronald Reagan.
