Color Me Shocked!

Mass. scores poorly on ‘corporate tax burden’ survey
Massachusetts has the eighth highest corporate tax burden in the country, according to a new survey.

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce released its annual “competitive scorecard” for the state - and the results weren’t good.

The state’s corporate tax burden was 39 percent higher than the national average last year, the chamber said.

When asked for comment, Governor "Cadillac" Deval Patrick replied, "Eighth? That's horrendous. I won't settle for less than the top three."

We're closer than you think, Gov:
In a separate survey, Massachusetts was ranked fourth worst in corporate tax burden in the nation, using different criteria for calculations, the chamber said.

Massachusetts: You're more likely to relocate your business out of here.

That is all.

What company will locate in Mass or RI when they can more easily and cheaply set up in other states? Why have so many companies left?
