WASHINGTON — Anxious and angry voters last night handed control of the US House to the Republican Party, altering the terrain of American politics in what amounted to a sweeping no-confidence signal to Democrats after President Obama’s first two years in office.
Yesterday’s national election results delivered a severe blow to Democrats, who have suffered politically from an economy that continues to sputter despite massive spending on Wall Street bailouts and government stimulus programs.
Fourth word in, if you include the location as a separate word. Angry. Just like the "angry white male" in 1994. I mean, it's the Globe, so it's not like I was expecting fair reporting - they're very quick to get their digs in that this wasn't as big as 1994; I guess it's just surprising to see the Globe just recycle headlines and stories from sixteen years ago.
When the Democrats win, it's "hope and change". When the Republicans win, it's "angry and anxious."
But no, there's no bias here. It certainly couldn't be that the Democrats were tone-deaf and drunk with power, and wore out their welcome in four short years. No, in the Globe's vision, it's those knuckle-dragging cousinhumper teabaggers all votin' angry and stuff that returned the GOP to power. Reading through the comments to this story, I see why MA didn't change a whit.
It's time to start really working on an escape plan.
That is all.

They also need to replace the word 'despite' with 'because of' when they are referring to massive spending on Wall Street bailouts and government stimulus programs. But as you say, we don't expect accuracy from this particular source.
I think the races were so tight in Mass that the moonbats, communists and other fraudsters had to stay inside the fence as it were to keep Deval et al in power. I think even the dems were surprised at some of the races they won there. Even with our lax voting laws, this election did not return the strange non-sensical results that the past couple of cycles did in NH. (results aided by out of state cars in polling place parking lots)
I'm sad to say that all y'all are screwed. Beacon Hill will take this as free rein to tax the crap out of everything.
Now stop updating your blog and go start producing revenue suckah. Auntie Zetuni's EBT card needs a refill so she can buy a bottle of Night Train and some 'ports.
"Angry" . . . nope, it's not "blind rage," so no Irish Whiskey shot. Just as well, it's WAY too early to be drinking. ;-)
Unfortunately, it's back to business as usual in MA. The only real victory we had was ending the sales tax for alcohol. It's interesting that Baker won 70% of the vote in Boston, but nowhere near enough to take office.
I would like to believe there's hope for Massachusetts. We were the birthplace of the American Revolution. Now we buy the threats that schools and services will be cut if we refuse to pay the taxes that ultimately go in the pockets of the elected officials, who go on to cut local services anyway.
At a recent Appleseed Project event in Harvard, MA, one of the shooters revealed that one of his representatives said all it takes is 10 letters to prove something is a hot issue for constituents. This was backed up by another shooter, who heard the same from a congressman in Maine. 10 letters is not much! These are our representatives, and they are PUBLIC SERVANTS. Let's remind them of that. Don't let them think they have free rein because half the state buys their rhetoric. They work for us.
After looking at the election map, it seems the only safe island for you in the Sea of Blue is up in New Hampshire. Heard through the grapevine that there are Letters of Transit available at Rick's Cafe Americain.
Dude-
The South is where you want to be.
The South, where it isn't a felony to be found in possession of a spent .22 cal casing.
The South, where you can have a pistol what holds more than 6 rounds in the magazine.
The South, where you can have a collapsible stock AND a flash suppressor on your EBR.
The South - where we have Lissa and soon, Borepatch, and NoPants, and Dixie, and many many more.
(To be fair, salaries are fairly low, but so is the cost of living... And Jobs... Well, yeah, Jobs are pretty scarce unless you like harvesting sugarcane, or cleaning the hotel rooms of visiting Yankees...)

I was going to give you a hard time about MA's election results, but sadly CT was just as bad. Ugh
"Still, the volatility of the American electorate was displayed plainly once again: It was the third election year in a row that voters had severely punished the party in power."
Pay close attention to that, Congress... it's a not-too-subtle hint.
