... but you do what you can with what you got...
My #1 Blogson is packing up and leaving for warmer - and freer - climes. He's shipping out next week, leaving the oppressive (and cold) Nanny State for the significantly warmer (and less oppressive) Peach State. He'll be warm - and free - by Thanksgiving, the Volksrepublik a fading memory in his rearview mirror starting Tuesday morning. Congratulations are indeed in order.
We'd like to get together one last time. Borepatch would like to do some shooting before he leaves; barring that we can get together for a (late) dinner Saturday evening. I can host a small group at my gun club on Saturday afternoon starting around 3 (the Mrs. is working); if we have more than three other people we'll need to look into a different venue. Alternately, if it works better, somewhere in the greater Boston area(ish) for dinner Saturday evening would be fun. I'd prefer to avoid Boston proper, but would make the sacrifice if needed.
What say you? Who would be in for shooting, dinner, or both? Let me know ASAP.
That is all.

Let's try this again...
Well... how about coming out to my Lodge's Turkey Shoot (shameless plug)?
You get to shoot .22s at either bullseye ("turkey") targets or luck targets (all you have to do is hit an 8x11 sheet of paper with a random number grid on it from 25 feet - even YOU can do THAT, Jay!)
Each relay will consist of six shooters, and high score in each relay wins a turkey. Targets are $4 each. And you don't even have to clean the guns 'cause they're MINE!!!
I'll be allowing "run what ya brung" stages for those who carry concealed (and who want to clean their own guns).
Where: North Grafton Fish, Bird & Game Club
When: Saturday, 11/20, 10 AM - 3 PM
Lunch and hot coffee will be available, too.
More information at www.franklinlodge.org/turkeyshoot.pdf
Ross, I'd love to but the Mrs. has to work until 3. Finding a sitter on two days notice - for a Saturday - is damn near impossible...
You interested in an evening dinner?
When, where, etc. for the dinner part?
I am booked Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Plus I couldn't travel into Mass with any firearm related stuff.
Well, it looks like it's pretty much going to be dinner on Saturday evening.
Mrs. G. is working until 3:30 on Saturday, and we're committed all day Sunday, so Saturday night is the only opportunity *I* have to get out.
The "where" depends primarily on who's coming and how far they care to drive. I *think* Borepatch is coming from somewhere south of Boston, so perhaps somewhere slightly north of town?
Maybe Burlington/Woburn area?
Doubletrouble, how far you up to driving?
Borepatch - is Saturday evening even okay?
If y'all don't mind coming to my neck of the woods there's a nice little brewery not terribly far from my house. Could probably even make up the bed in the office if someone had a few too many... ;)
Let's pick something quick - we've only got 48 hours to pull this together!
I might be able to slip out for dinner... Burlington/Woburn would be better, but might be tight getting space depending on the time.
I'll email ya...
