Chalk (Outline) Another Goblin...

Readers Scott and Kevin both sent me the following story (thanks!):

Police: Detroit pizza delivery man fatally shoots man in robbery attempt
Detroit — A pizza delivery man thwarted a robbery attempt Sunday night when he fatally shot one of the men allegedly trying to rob him on the city's east side.

The man was making a delivery about 9:55 p.m. on the 20200 block of McCormick when he was approached by three men, Detroit police spokesman Yvette Walker said.

At least one of the men was armed, police said. The delivery man pulled a handgun and shot at the suspects, killing one of them. The man who died was in his late teens or early 20s, police said.

Perhaps if more pizza delivery guys shot muggers dead, the criminals would get the idea that it's not worth the $25 to get shot? Well, then again, like the post yesterday showed where the imbecile tried to rob a gun store with an empty gun, criminals don't tend to be the sharpest knives in the drawer. At least in this case the delivery guy wasn't killed for the $20 he had on him like what happens all too frequently. In this case, the good guy was armed and was able to prevail despite three armed assailants.

Pepper spray or whistles don't work as well as .38 Special no matter how much we'd like it to be so...

Dead Goblin Count: 130

That is all.

Mr. Davis formed Second Chance Body Armor after he had to take care of Goblins who tried to rob him while he was Delivering Pizzas. This was a few decades back. The problem is, most of the Big Pizza Chains (like most Corporations today, sadly) have strict policies AGAINST Self-Defense by their employees. It's easier and cheaper to fire an $8.00 an hour guy trying to supplement his income to feed his family than to pay off some Ambulance Chasing Shyster who's representing the Estate of a Scum Sucking Goblin whose earthly demise should be celebrated. And if the employee dies, oh well, they knew the job was dangerous when they took it. After all, the Pizza Company isn't responsible for the behavior of the client, now are they? Heard a rumor that there are a few Firearms Trainers who have special classes for the Delivery people who CCW, and are willing to lose their jobs to stay above ground and continue breathing.
