I'll Take "Headlines That Don't Surprise Me" for $500, Alex

'Jackass' Star Killed In Car Crash

(CNN) -- Ryan Dunn, one of the stars of MTV's "Jackass" films and TV series, was killed in a fiery car crash on a Pennsylvania highway early Monday, police said.

A passenger in Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 was also killed, but investigators have not positively identified the body, according to the police report sent to CNN.

Other reports claim the estimated speed at the time of the accident was over 100 MPH, and that alcohol may have been a factor. Out of all of this, you know what surprised me the most? That starring in a succession of movies that have the word "Jackass" in the title would give one sufficient scratch to buy a GT3...

The living embodiment of the term "Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes"...

That is all.

Jay,"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" was the exact thing that came to my mind when I first heard about this.

I'd just read elsewhere that a bunch of 911's are getting recalled because of bad wheel bearings. Are the 2 connected? Dunno...

Irony, defined.

BTW, stupidity sells so I'm not surprised at the amount of money this, uh, late jackass made.

The recall is not for bad wheel bearings, the recall is because a the breaucrats don't belive Porche can design centerlock wheels properly for street cars.....or maybe the fun police just don't think that centerlock wheels ( held on by a single central lug nut) belong on a street car.

In 1965 My TR4 had center lock wire wheels ... OK they were called Knock Off wheels at the time... but the design was the same. Only then they didnt use a giant geared torque wrench.....as I recall the correct setting was 3 good whacks with the brass mallet from the tool bag.

.....Just another victum of Hollywood disease....Way too much money ....far too little common sense.

Based on the pictures his (looks like an 07) GT3 had normal 5 bolt wheels. The centerlocks are only on the 2011 cars.

.....and you just know his last words were " Hey ...hold my beer and watch this !!!"

Doesn't matter what the wheels or brakes are on the car. Get a head full of booze and get a supercar up past a C-note and death is what's on your mind.

Also as for the other guy, he stepped into a supercar with a drunk behind the wheel, and I wouldn't put it past them that he was excited by the high speed.

My Sympathy meter didn't even twitch.

Apparently the chumps (chimps?) from Westboro are planning to attend the funeral.

Now THAT is insulting to the soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen whose funerals they've dishonored.
