Not That We Need More Proof, But...

Imagine, if you will, that the media covered the "Operation Gunwalker" story - which actually resulted in the death of a Federal Agent - with the same zeal they showed covering the whole Valerie Plame kerfluffle? You know, where her status as a ZOMG CIA COVERT OP was revealed to the press by teh evil Bush administration, forcing her to appear on every talk show, news program, and late night gabfest imaginable to hawk her book lament how evil Chimpy McHitlerburton and his cronies were...

CIA "operative" outed? Months and months of front page headlines. Border Patrol agent killed as a direct result of ATF malfeasance? Yawn. One wonders how this story would have been covered differently had the Border Patrol agent been killed in 2007 rather than 2010. Certainly the media would have shown the same "restraint" in 2007, right? I mean, they certainly wouldn't have used Agent Terry's death to their own anti-Bush agenda, right? Right?

And while we're dreaming, I want a Thompson...

That is all.

I'll settle for the press showing the same amount of interest in Gunwalker that they showed in "researching" Sarah Palin's emails.
