...When Robb cries.
Apparently, Glock pistols chambered in .40 S&W Magnum blow up just like Glocks in regular .40 S&W. Agent Franks does not approve... Link found through Unc.
I guess I've been fortunate - or, as Tam might say, haven't shot enough - I've never blown a gun up. Part of it is that I don't reload yet - I'm sure I'll tempt fate once I start rolling my own. Part of it, I'm certain, is that I've been lucky - the malformed rounds I've encountered have been for my revolvers (basically, poorly or wrongly crimped rounds that were too long to fit in the cylinder) and I've caught them before setting them off. Another part, most likely, is that I don't shoot enough - specifically, I don't shoot as much as the serious shooters that encounter these failures.
I think I'll stay well away from Glocks in .40 *anything* just to be safe, though...
That is all.

I've popped a .40++ already. Wasn't fun, didn't do any damage to anything other than my ego and yes it felt like having a big ass rubber band snapped against your hand. I didn't blister like that nor did my gun autodisassemble.
As a reloader, I've always paid attention to the brass I'm using. Any signs of a bulge and the casing is discarded. Sure, brass is the most expensive portion of the round, but the pistol and my hand are kind of pricey as well.
That one case failure was a (thankfully) relatively painless learning experience on what to look for.
The impression I got from the article is that if you get a replacement Glock Barrel nowadays, it comes with the Supported Ramp. Which, if true, makes one wonder why Gaston didn't do a recall on the "Unsupported" Barrels?
The Reloaded Ammo, is of course a Separate Issue, and that Company needs to address it's Q.C. ASAP.
.40 S&W Magnum?
I thought that was called the 10mm.

Yes, 10mm will blow up just as badly when fully loaded as when downloaded. On the other hand, if you notice giant bulges in your brass, and do not rectify the situation, well, psgwsp*
When I first got my G20, and every time I try a new brand of ammo, I check the brass for the first few rounds. No sign of problems so far. (Also, although my Glock is likewise from the '90s, the chamber in mine looks like the 'new' barrel, not the old.

+1 to Les. If you want to feed anything but factory jacketed ammo through your Glock get an aftermarket barrel with a supported chamber.
And do what I did at the range when you popped off your first rounds from the gun. Check your brass for headspacing and excessive pressure signs.
Now I have this disturbing image of Robb as The Artist Formerly And Now Currently Known As Prince in my head...
Keep shooting that scandium-framed .357 hand grenade of yours, and it may happen yet.
Then again, that gun doesn't have to blow up to damage your hand...
