Rare JayG Action Shot!
She didn't care for the trigger of the M&P, which really isn't fair, as it's the terrible MA trigger. The Ruger was a little more amenable to her liking, but the real star was the SIG SAUER P226. The DA/SA trigger was to her liking, and the Crimson Trace laser grips helped get and keep her on target. But her real favorite was the Ruger 10/22 with (pre-ban) 30 round magazines. She went through more than half a 550 round box of Federal bulk 22LR with the Ruger:
I hear that every time a teenaged girl shoots an assault weapon, Sarah Brady gets one step closer to the edge...
That is all.

Keep racking up those karma points and you'll make it into heaven (where ammo is free and guns are self-cleaning and John Moses Browning reigns)
You should look into those Apex Trigger Mods for the M+P. As I've said before, I've shot Keads with it, very nice! Tam thinks highly of it also, so does Unc, and Robb Allen is waiting to get one put in. Make sure you hit their booth at the SHOT show.
As for Young Shooters Matches, HELL YEAH!
"E" looks like a good candidate for the Appleseed program. You and your 10/22 would be welcome there too.
We have a rifle set-up for Appleseed, but she seems to prefer Steel Challenge. :-)
I posted a mini-review over at my place. Bottom line: if you live in MA and are buying new, get the Ruger and by ammo with the savings.
It's not just an MA trigger on the M&P, the M&P's trigger is utterly atrocious!
Every time a young girl shoots a gun an angel gets its wings.
I'm kind of surprised that a new shooter liked a DA/SA trigger. How many of her shots did she fire DA?
Definitely get the Apex kit for your M&P. It's not hard to install and greatly improves the trigger feel of even free state guns.
If she liked the 10/22 a lot, why not shoot that in steel challenge for a while? Of course, some matches let you shoot two guns, so she could get a pistol and do both. I shot steel challenge recently with a 22LR AR and it was a blast.
She shot a SC match with a .22 rifle, but has gotten into Scholastic Steel Challenge with uses USPSA Production guns in 9mm.
I think an M&P 9L or Pro with an APEX kit would be great, but they are approved for sale in MA.
Ah, gotcha. The 9L/Pro aren't on the MA roster, but that doesn't mean you can't get them. I have two.
