Richmond man shoots home invaders - 1 dead, 1 hurt
A Richmond resident opened fire on two men who broke into his home, killing one and wounding another, police said Thursday.(BTW, that's Richmond CA, not VA!)
The shooting happened at a home on the 400 block of South 35th Street near Cutting Boulevard, in the flatlands north of Interstate 580, at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
There's some question both in the story and in comments as to why the house was targeted, with vague allusions to the homeowner being involved in the "unlicensed pharmacist" business or other such rumors. Given that this happened in California and the homeowner was not immediately arrested, it's highly doubtful given that drug dealers and criminals tend to be ineligible to own firearms. Since there's no mention of him being prohibited, it's all good.
Dead Goblin Count: 221
That is all.

Minor nit, JayG; only convicted "dealers and criminals" are prohibited from gun ownership.
Ask me how I know. :)
