Darkness-B-Gone
Smith & Wesson M&P45 with LaserLyte pistol bayonet (natch!) rail, and mini-light and a LaserMax Uni-Max rail-mounted laser sight. Okay, so the pistol bayonet isn't part of the home defense set-up (it won't fit in the underbed safe with it on), but the laser helps aim and the micro-light lights up the night...
And 21 rounds of Winchester Ranger 175 grain .45 ACP +P frangible rounds for any goblins caught in the glare...
That is all.

That should do it quite nicely!
Godbless, Jay.
Cool, but bulky and gimmick laden. With all that crap hanging off the pistol, I'd just as soon use the M4 and improve ballistics, accuracy and capacity. Or, use the 12 gauge and get things done with one or two rounds. Why use a handgun that can't be carried or tucked away discreetly?
"Gimmick laden" is my middle name... :)
Do a search of this site for "Snub-a-rooney"...

Jay, Checked out the Snub-a rooney.
Damn what a J-frame! Brought a smile to my face. With the bayonet, just make sure no one backs in to your back up piece!
Don't think I could shove that in n my pants............
