Irony, Thy Name Is Elizabeth Warren...

Mopar sends in the perfect bookend to the saga of "Walking Eagle":

Cruel irony in Elizabeth Warren’s Cherokee saga
Throughout her career and political campaign, Elizabeth Warren has found victims everywhere she looked, including when she looked in the mirror and saw an alleged descendant of one of the most historically victimized groups, Native Americans.

In what may be the ultimate and cruelest irony, not only is it unlikely that Elizabeth Warren’s great-great-great grandmother was Cherokee, it turns out that Warren’s great-great-great grandfather was a member of a militia unit which participated in the round-up of the Cherokees in the prelude to the Trail of Tears.
Excuse me for just one moment, won't you?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, I'm all better now. It's just that the irony is just too rich. There's also a pretty impressive breakdown of the extent of Warren's deceit on the subject, and how she has allowed her recollection of family "lore" to color her perception - of what she is entitled to. There's also a pretty decent run in the comments dealing with how she has sidestepped any and all native american festivals while at Harvard - although claiming to wanting to meet other native american was her reason for including her "lore" on her application.

BTW, an accepted alternative to Warren's Indian name of "Walking Eagle" would be "Fauxcahontas"...

That is all.

She wants special consideration because she is 1/128th some sort of minority? "My great great great grandmother is Indian, therefore I am"?

I think 127/128th of her that might be English, Irish, German, or some other horrible whitey whiteness should say Fuck You.

A better name for her would be "Spreading Bull."

In order to be a legal Indian in America you have to be at least one fourth. Anything less does not qualify. It is a federal law.

I think that she really knew that she was lying about her heritage, considering that she "sidestepped any and all native American festivals while at Harvard".

In many tribes one had a private name, known to your family and the great spirit, and a public name which was used by other members of the tribe. With that in mind, her private name is "Fauxcahontas", but everyone calls her "Spreadign Bull."

"Spreading Bull", the Harvard Professor. Actually I don't think that distinguishes her from the other professors enough.

Not only is it asinine to do what she did, but my Great Great Great was a full blooded Cherokee born on that trail of tears no less. This would be insulting if it was not so laughable and pathetic. I consider myself an American with various ancestral blood lines. Nothing to give me a head up out of misbegotten royal born privileges.

Oh the egg on the face of this. But lets see if the local comedy stations pick it apart!

Anyone?
Anyone?

So her ggggm was on the Trail of tears, so was her ggggf. Was there some fraternisation going on?

While I love the irony, the press is avoiding one simple fact: Lying on an application can be grounds for termination. If you or I were caught in a lie like this, we would be fired. Why is no one making that point?
