September Book Tour

September 6th, stock signings at Holyoke B&N, Annie’s Book Shop of Worcester, and Framingham B&N. Because I’m being driven around by someone, I’m not sure yet which times I’ll be hitting each of those, but I’ll be sure to Tweet/FB when I’m going to each that day.

Signing at the Burlington MA B&N, 7pm

Bingo. That's the one. Burlington is less than an hour from my house, so I'll even have time to grab my camera... I'm sure the place will be mobbed - yes, even in MA - so I think we ought to meet by 6:30. There are two Barnes & Nobles locations in Burlington, MA, so I'm awaiting clarification from Larry, but I would assume that it's the B&N by the Burlington Mall. I will post clarification as soon as I receive it.

So, who's in to meet the creative genius behind Monster Hunter?

UPDATE: I have it from Larry that he will be at the Barnes & Noble by the Burlington Mall (98 Middlesex Turnpike). He'll be signing from 7 - 9, and will be up for a bite to eat afterwards. WOO HOO!!!

Blogmeet: HOLY S**T

Guess who's coming to the Volksrepublik? I'll give you three hints: Larry. Freakin'. Correia. Okay, so that wasn't really a hint, but you get the idea. The man behind the Monster Hunter juggernaut will be in the greater Boston area doing a book signing on Thursday, September 6th - so who wants to get together to go pester the man get his John Hancock on the newest installment in the Monster Hunter series? I'll be going to the Burlington signing unless it *really* doesn't work with my schedule, because it's at least 3X closer than anything else.

Now, not to drop names or anything (LARRY), but I have it on good authority that Larry might be up for a dinner/late night snack with some gyrating fanbois interested fans. We're still waiting on some key specifics - like exactly when he'll be at which location and what time he'll be occupied - but once we have a specific schedule we'll get something nailed down. The locations are across the state - and I'm hoping that the last one listed (Burlington) is the last stop, because that's the one closest to me.

If the stars align and he does wind up on the eastern side of the state for dinner time, and his schedule allows, who'd be up for dinner with Larry?

Collections...

One of the many different things that I collect are books signed by their respective authors. I have Leonard Nimoy's "I Am Spock", George Takei's "To The Stars", as well as a book on fly fishing by a VT fishing guide who happens to have participated in the same political discussion board I was on back in the '90s.

Recently, though, I've been collecting books signed by gunbloggers:

Theoretically Larry Correia will be in the general Boston area some time this summer for a book signing, which will mean I will have met all four authors (and, hopefully, had dinner with them as well - heck, I hit 50% of the above at Carmine's in St. Louis!).

Hittin' the BIG Big Time...

So, I get an e-mail from my east coast holster connection. He's floating about 10 feet off the ground because, well, I'll let him tell it:

The lovely and talented Mrs. Dragon put her Executive Assistant skills to use for me about 12 weeks ago, trying to contact prop masters at various TV studios, and some actors/actresses directly. She got through to the prop master for NCIS, and about three weeks ago I sent them a FlatJack for a female actress who was complaining that all the holsters made the butt of the gun stick out or dig into her ribs.

Long story short, the director loved the FlatJack, the actress could wear a blazer-type kacket and not print...all was right with the world.

I got a call from the prop master on Thursday with a special order. It was built yesterday, and shipped this morning. If either of you know the show, there is a goth girl character on it...and this is called for in the script for said character....a goth-themed lunchbox. :-)

Dennis is going to keep us posted on when the episode will air. This is big - I might have to actually watch television for this! Big time congratulations to Dennis and Dragon Leatherworks! NCIS! That's serious big time!
