Just Sayin'...

It's June 17th. The first day of summer is merely days away. And yet it was 39ºF this morning when I left for the gym. I have the space heater on here at work right now.

How's that global warming coming?

That is all.

Not certain about the "global warming" of which you speak, but climate change, which is the correct terminology, is pretty noticeable. I've just returned from a wonderful holiday in colorful Colorado, a place where I lived for many years before returning to my native Texas. In the brief 8 days when I was in that state, the front range recorded a record 13 funnel clouds, two of which touched down and did some damage. In the years when I lived there, over 30 years ago, I remember only one funnel cloud. The rainy season there also is extended by several weeks. It rained every day I was there, and I planned the trip to be after the time these normally cease.

Dismiss it if you wish, Jay, but climate change is here. The cause of same is up for some debate, but disregard the fact of "glogal warming" at your peril.

Ah, you have discovered the benefit of living up there finally. It is hotter than Hades down here already.

Perhaps Brother Vault-Co is on to something.

It's hotter than hell here also, but I have read numerous reports - lately - of colder than normal temperatures around the country.

I for one do not believe much of what Big Brother feeds us, such as - global warming - a convenient truth.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity. The DC area is humid in teh summer. Even if the temp is 60, the humidity has to be between 95% to 132% from May to October.

NJT, people north of Tennessee have no right to complain about humidity (it's in the constitution). The 31st amendment, I think.

Well, there should be one. :)

Jay, I'll gladly trade the next 3 months with you. As I type this (10:33pm) it's 83 degrees and we're looking at 96 tomorrow. My $190 power bill for the month of May misses the open windows/attic fan days of April.
