I Can't Help But Wonder...

With all the talk about the upsets in DE and NY and the close race in NH, all the buzz this morning on the wire is how this is terrible news for the GOP. At first blush, the GOP seems hell-bent on confirming the very worst of all fears, with classic Stupid Party crap like Castle not supporting O'Donnell. Even GOP stalwart Karl Rove is throwing in the towel, claiming that O'Donnell's win will now keep the GOP from re-taking the Senate.

Bullhockey.

The one thing that will keep the GOP from retaking the Senate is, well, the GOP. They're badmouthing the actual, honest-to-Reagan conservatives and lamenting the loss of RINOs. Newsflash, morons, people don't want RINOs. If they want a supoprter of huge government entitlements and nanny-state assholes, they'll vote for Democrats every single time. We want - we need - the "Party of No" as the Democrats so snidely assert. We don't want or need someone who will grease the skids of slavery just the same but has the right consonant in parentheses after their name.

As a side note, could the media be any more condescending? The NYT refers to O'Donnell as a "dissident". Other venues are worse, calling her an "insurgent". Words mean things, and they are masters at this - what's the most common use of the word "insurgent" in the past ten years? Yeah, the terrorist assholes killing our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. They know this. They want this connection made in the worst way - that folks who believe in the Constitution are no worse than a terrorist planting a roadside IED.

I suppose we should be happy that they've grown tired of calling us "teabaggers"...

That is all.

Jay, after following the news last night, I think what we are seeing is the last gasp of the "Good Ol' Boys, Boss Hog-type" Repubs desperately clinging to their Graft and Gold. My concern is, though, that come the Day After the Mid-Terms, all these Lame Ducks and RINO's who need to sell off their Georgetown Mansions (silly me, that's a dumb statement, they'll never go back home, they'll just become Instant Lobbyists) will jump on the Obammy/Reid/Pelosi Bandwagon and vote a whole bunch off Crap into Law just to thumb their noses at the Tea Party-Types before they shred all their incriminating docs. Don't think they won't ' cause Lame-Duck Senator Voinavich (RINO-Ohio) just helped the Anoited One get another $50 Billion Union Pay-off "Stimulus" bill passed yesterday. Combine these scumbags with the RINO's who will still stick around, and it'll still be Business as Usual for the Holiday Season. Stay tuned.

I am an insurgent, and I am planning on blowing their plans all to hell. Bad Politician! No vote!

Winning back the Senate is a long shot, perhaps made a bit longer by O'Donnell's win in DE. DE is apparently a funny state, liberal to the north, more conservative down south. I don't think that it's unwinnable for her, but the hill is quite a bit steeper than it would be with Castle.

That being said, Castle is, if not a RINO, a squishy soft Republican. He would likely be a suitable replacement for Arlen Spector, and we all know how that worked out.

I think Ayotte is a better candidate in NH and likely to keep the seat in the R column.

The New York Governor race is far less important nationally than the media makes it out to be.

Bingo.
No matter how they pretty it up, their campaign slogans boil down to:
Vote for me, I want what my opponent wants... Just less of it!

Meh.
It occurs to me that the most lasting legacy of the American political left will be the utter destruction of the English language. They are perfectly fine calling constitutionalists 'terrorists', and look at all the 'Bushitler' signs and 'Republicans are Nazis' crap.
More lately, they've decided that 'Socialist' is some sort of code-word for 'nigger', instead of 'someone who wants state control of banks and industry' (as defined by the rest of the world).
I've begun to stop caring WHAT they say. When they can't bring anything better than name-calling to the discussion, it's time to send them back to day-care.
