Never Let A Crisis Go To Waste...

Oh HELL NO...

US to step up security at hotels and malls
WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States is stepping up security at "soft targets" like hotels and shopping malls, as well as trains and ports, as it counters the evolving Al-Qaeda threat, a top official said Sunday.

A year after a foiled plot to bomb a US-bound passenger plane, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told CNN's "State of the Union" program that other places and modes of transportation must now be scrutinized.
Right. Not content at having ruined air travel, the Øbama administration has decided that it wants to drive the final nail into the US economy's coffin and make shopping as onerous a process as flying. Hope you liked last year's property taxes for brick and mortar shops, because if you implement airport style security at the local mall, you will positively KILL the last shreds of the retail industry.

You make Suzie Soccermom go through a TSA patdown to get into the Mall of America and it will last about as long as the Chevy Chase show. Flying is something we do because we have to - going to the mall we don't have to do, and if you make it a pain in the ass, we won't do it. Kill off a few hundred retail outlets and watch the economy shrivel and die.

Man, I really, honestly can't tell if this administration is really evil or really incompetent - it's hard to tell...

That is all.

If you make it so that Suzie Soccermom can't go to the mall, then the peasants will revolt. Most people don't give a damn about what's going on until it affects them. You don't get between a WASP and Pottery Barn Kids.

Large shopping malls have a dozen or more entrances, and that many more again when you add employee entrances, back doors and loading docks. Each will need a full set of T&A Agents.

Sounds more like the T&A Full Empolyment program to me.

Homeland Security then becomes the "civilian security force larger than the military" that our dictator needs to disarm us and achieve complete socialism.

Actually I'm waiting to see what next year's holiday air travel figures are like (assuming same or worse security).

This year the average traveler didn't really find out about the security till what, beginning to mid November? Alot of folks already have plans by then, reservations, days off planned, etc. NEXT year though, they'll already know what the security is like, they'll have all year to plan on using a couple extra vaca days to plan to drive to gramma's for the holiday, figure out how to work around driving instead of flying. There's alot of folks out there who are saying that once their current commitments are taken care of they don't plan to fly till the current security issues change. I think next year will be the real tell-tale personally. If nothing changes, well then America is hopeless. If figures drop, well maybe not!

All I know is that I live where I can go pretty much everywhere armed. If I go to take my son to the mall to watch a movie and they start groping him... Well... I guess you'll see me on the news.

Keep in mind, I'm fairly peaceful, but you don't touch my kid. Ever. Fastest route to a dirt nap there is.

Think I'm the only person who'll feel this way? I doubt it. Let's see what happens when Suzy Soccermom sees her 14 year old daughter felt up when they go to Bath and Body Works...

""It means, as we make the land borders harder to cross from a land border crossing standpoint, that we need to be looking out into our coasts and to the waters," said Napolitano."

I missed something - exactly WHEN did this lying sack of bovine waste start making "land borders harder to cross"? I was under the impression that getting across our Mexican border was only slightly more difficult than driving the SouthEast Express way, and then only because it doesn't have an HOV lane.

The TSA at the mall will never happen. There has to be SOMEBODY in government who already knows that government groping soccer moms and teenage girls on the way into the mall is going to be the Wolfe Time signal for too much of the American mainstream to ever think about putting the genie back in the bottle.

You know, it is items like this that make me think Glenn Beck has it right. They are actively TRYING to get the peasants to revolt. "Bottom-up, Top-down, inside-out", then the crackdown begins to "save us" from the "evil mobs" bent on trying to destroy our "middle-class values".

Claire Wolfe's clock is indeed moving past the awkward stage...

I'd have just said "Evil or incompetent? Yes."
