Holy Pantslessness, Batman!

Robb reviews the Smith & Wesson M&P40 over at Guns, Holsters, and Gear.

I've been resisting the M&P series here for a while now, mainly because I don't need or want another .40 S&W firearm and I see no point in buying a high capacity 9mm that I can only stoke with 10 round magazines. I have been thinking more and more about the M&P45, simply because it looks like it would be a great house pistol, with 10+1 rounds of .45 ACP goodness and a rail for a light/laser/bayonet. Robb puts the .40 through its places, blowing the front sight off in the process (!!!) and gives his impressions.

Go, take a read - the S&W M&P series seems to be taking the gunblogging community by storm!

That is all.

I'll let you know how I like my new M&P 45.... if I ever get the heck out of this dusty hellhole.

We've got the 9 mm compact and a .45 -- good, solid guns both of them. But Sigs, they ain't ;-)

I keep tossing the idea of the M&P45C around in my head if we ever get CCW around these parts (WI)...

Something about the 4" barrel and the shortened grip sounds like such a great idea for a CCW piece. Now if they'd just do that for the 9mm...

light/laser/bayonet

I need new glasses. I first read that as "lightsaber bayonet" and immediately thought, "oh, hell yes!"

I got an M&P 45C last month. It is now my now daily carry pistol. I love it.

Just checked the S+W site, and I think the threaded barrel .45 ACP M+P might be Mass. Compliant. But something tells me the Suppressor itself isn't.

I love my 45C. I traded in a SIG P239 in 9mm for it back in the winter and really haven't looked back. It's now my daily carry gun and I just slap a TLR-1 on it for nightstand duty at night.

My only wish is that they would come out with some sort of a grip extension that you could put on one of the full size 10rd magazines. Now THAT would be friggin' sweet!
