Urgent Alert for Readers in TX...

Aaron reminds you to contact your representative about HB 276, TX Open Carry.

The Open Carry Bill, HB 2756, is currently pending in the House Calendar Committee. This bill needs a vote on the House floor by Thursday, May 12th.

Please contact your Representative today and urge them to push for a vote on this important legislation. Contact info for all Texas Legislators can be found at http://www.capitol.state.tx.us

Having recently had my eyes opened to the open carry movement, and finding that I like it quite a bit, I wholeheartedly endorse this effort to get open carry legalized in Texas. And anywhere else where it is currently not legal. Visibility is important - the open carriage of arms reminds people who might otherwise be on the fence about gun ownership that their friends, neighbors, and relatives are carrying arms, without the bloodshed that the liberal media and gun grabbers (but I repeat myself) claim will happen.

If you're in Texas, please contact your representative and urge them to vote in favor of open carry in TX.

That is all.

Have contacted mine already but and really putting my effort into Campus Carry. That is a much more personal fight for me. That said, anything that improves and protects the rights of all Texas Citizens I am in support. The stupid legislative carry exemptions really chaps my hide.

I doubt this bill will ever get to the floor. It was tough enough getting the "parking lot" and "campus carry" bills through. It's sad but there really isn't much support for open carry in Texas right now. Perhaps after the budget crunch passes but not right now.
