Mad Skills...

Linoge sends me a link to this article (with the subject header of "I want to see you do this"), which contains this video:

I ride an Electra Glide Standard, which is only marginally different from the Road King shown performing those amazing feats. The bike weighs about 800 pounds, give or take a few, depending on what you're carrying and how much gas you have in the tank. Harley Davidson touring bikes are not what comes to mind when the word "nimble" is used. But Officer Williams makes that big FLHRP look like a Ninja...

Now that is a man who knows his bike.

That is all.

He's not afraid to scrape the road when he needs to either.

I will admit to being awestruck. He was flipping that 800 lb gorilla into corners like it was a dirtbike. And the torque! I noted a couple of time that he rolled through the figure 8 crossovers by flipping the throttle and letting the bike pretty well fall over highside, then shutting it off and rolling through the rest of the loop. I know I couldn't do that on my 750 Nighthawk. That gentleman, indeed, can ride...

Take a second gander at the 1:06 mark and again at 1:24.

One of the training aids (in addition to the MSF course) that I used myself when learning, and recommend strongly is a dvd of exercises and instructions from a guy who used to teach that to cops.

Part of the videos that was most effective for me was seeing the techniques demonstrated on big bikes.
I basically learned to maneuver my own bike by riding the NH motorcycle test course over and over and applying the techniques from the video as practice.

Awesome. Love the sound of the foot boards scraping pavement at the same time it makes me cringe. That took place less than 15 minutes from my house. How did I not hear about this?

I now have an overwelming urge to watch Electric Glide in Blue again.

Wow.....That is nice...40 years of riding and a little motocross/dirt biking in the beginning and road rage the rest of the time and that is some awesome bike handling, let alone what he is riding!!
Thanks!!!
