FITZ!
More information can be found at the Julia action site here, look for lot# 1176. It's a J.H. Fitzgerald custom Colt revolver, as detailed at the site:
*EXTREMELY RARE COLT NEW SERVICE "FITZ SPECIAL" DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. SN 337309. Cal. 45 Colt. Blue finish with bbl shortened to 2" and the orig front sight relocated. Top strap is grooved for the rear sight. The front of trigger guard has been professionally removed and the remaining end of trigger guard rounded & smoothed. Hammer has been bobbed by having the spur entirely removed. In addition the grip has been shortened and rounded and currently sports full checkered silver medallion Colt grips.
It's a .45 LC snubbie! Long before the Judge was ever thought of - heck, before Taurus was even a company, J.H. Fitzgerald was customizing large bore pistols for concealed carry. In this case, he started with a Colt New Service, which most likely sported a 5 or 6" barrel, and cut it down to a concealable size. A quick glance at this pistol and you might mistake it for a Detective Special with a hammer bob - until you have something next to it for scale, of course...

Wonder if that's an Ed McGivern Special, Fitz put a few of those out after making some for Ed, who had a preference for those when doing his shooting.

Hooooollleeeee molie! I had no idea such a creature existed in 45 LC - I wonder how many legal release forms one would need to sgn to have one of these made today!

They cut off the wrong half of the trigger guard!?!

Yep, the trigger guard has been cut away.
While it may have some draw-backs, it eliminates:
"...the need for poking one's finger into this portion of the frame on a revolver or 'sneaking it' into the smaller dimensions of trigger guards on pocket guns"
