A while later, she contacted me and asked if I'd ordered my kilt yet. When I replied in the negative, she asked me to hold off a bit, particularly on the accessories. And then this showed up in the mail:
Sgian Dubh
This is another custom knife from Michael W., the generous knifemaker responsible for the most gorgeous Bowie knife I've ever seen. He heard I was getting kitted out for the second round of KTKC, and was horrified that I might be considering one of the el cheapo plastic-sheathed sgian dubhs. He conspired with my blogdaughter (oh the subterfuge!) and it arrived on Saturday - now I can go ahead and order the rest of my kit.
And it's even single-edged so I can carry it in MA!
That is all.

As an avid follower of the Pants-free Lifestyle(T)(C)(Robb Allen), I can attest to the utility of that wee blade.
Plus, the fun looks folks give you when you start pulling a Jack Elam moment with a knife in every pocket, every sock, and a story to go with each one is worth the weight of steel.

Seriously, what difference does it make if it has one or more sharp edges other than giving a legislator the illusion of usefullness? Man, am I getting cynical as I age...
WV "kliques" see "legis, oh, nevermind"
Glad you like it and think it might come in handy. I gotta admit however, I didn't make the knife, I picked it up in a trade. I just reworked and refinished it. Miss Nancy saw it before and after and she thought I did a good job on it. (grin)
Wow, dude. That's a gorgeous blade, worthy of being worn with a proper kilt. You sure you're Sicilian?
