CSMV, Save Us All!

Justice Breyer robbed by machete-wielding intruder at West Indies vacation home
WASHINGTON – Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week by a machete-wielding intruder at his vacation home in the West Indies, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said Monday.

The 73-year-old Breyer, wife Joanna and guests were confronted by the robber around 9 p.m. EST Thursday in the home Breyer owns on the Caribbean island of Nevis, spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said. The intruder took about $1,000 in cash and no one was hurt, Arberg said.

She said the robbery was reported to local authorities, but she did not know if an arrest has been made. The U.S. Marshals Service is assisting local authorities and the Supreme Court Police with the investigation, Marshals Service spokesman Jeff Carter said.
Yeah, let us know how that works out for you, will ya? I'm sure the authorities will "find" the person responsible in record time, given that they really don't want the US Feds poking around any more than is absolutely necessary... Cue calls from the CSMV (Coalition to Stop Machete Violence) about stricter controls on those high capacity assault machetes in 3... 2... 1...

I hope that the authorities catch the person responsible, and I also hope that Justice Breyer starts taking security more seriously - like staying inside the US where there are more security options for him other than relying on local law enforcement. It's doubtful that he'll change his stance on firearms as a result of this encounter, but it would be quite the coup to have him come around on the need for self-defense as a result of this harrowing encounter.

And while I'm dreaming, get rid of the Approved Firearms Roster...

That is all.

If he wants a Caribbean Winter Home, what's wrong with the Florida Keys, the U.S. Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico? Or doesn't he feel that he needs to pay for ObamaCare through his U.S. Taxes, which, BTW, pays for his Salary. Oh, and I don't think he'd have any trouble getting a CHP in any of those places, either.

Or does he think that'll be his Permanent Home of Record when he retires, so he can dodge even more Taxes?

Of course, the Silver Lining is that since he wasn't hacked to bits, then we don't have to go through some Uber-Liberal Judge being appointed to the Supremes to replace him. Yeah, I know it doesn't change the Vote Count, but someone who's 45 can do a lot of Damage for a long time.
